WILMAH and Stonehaven Cozmix Group Launch Landmark Survey to Examine Career Advancement in the Animal Health Industry
First-of-Its-Kind Annual Survey Will Quantify the Role of Networking, Mentorship, and Sponsorship Across Gender, Career Stage, and Geography

June 2026 – Women in Leadership and Management in Animal Health (WILMAH) and Stonehaven Cozmix Group today announced the launch of the Animal Health Career Pulse, a comprehensive research initiative designed to shed light on how professionals across the Animal Health industry advance – and the inflection points that either propel or stall a career. The survey is open throughout the month of June and anyone and everyone currently working in, or with past experience in, the Animal Health industry is invited to participate.
All genders are encouraged to take the survey, to provide a holistic snapshot of the career journey for the entire industry.

Why This Survey Matters
Animal Health is a uniquely connected industry that’s built on relationships, driven by science, and shaped by the people who work across its manufacturers, distributors, veterinary practices, diagnostics companies, associations, and beyond. Yet for all its collaborative spirit, the industry has never had a rigorous, data-driven look at how careers actually progress – and where they diverge.
The thesis behind this research is straightforward: men's and women's career journeys in Animal Health often start from a place of shared ambition and comparable capability, yet diverge at predictable inflection points – the first people-manager role, first P&L ownership, entry into senior
leadership, and executive sponsorship moments. Three enablers – networking, mentorship, and sponsorship – appear to be the critical difference-makers. This survey will quantify exactly that. –
The findings will be published as an annual industry report, establishing a baseline that the industry can track, debate, and act on year after year.

Who Should Take This Survey
If you have ever worked in Animal Health – in any role, at any level, in any part of the world then your voice belongs in this dataset. The survey is designed to capture the full spectrum of the industry:
•All functions: Sales, marketing, technical services, R&D, manufacturing, finance, HR, supply chain, veterinary practice, and more
•All career levels: From individual contributors to C-suite executives
•All employer types: Manufacturers, distributors, corporate practice groups, independent clinics, diagnostics, equipment, technology, consulting, and associations
•All geographies: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Brazil, Australia, India, Japan and beyond
•All genders: This research depends on hearing from men, women, and non-binary professionals equally

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and includes ~38 questions covering career milestones, access to influential leaders, mentorship quality, sponsorship experience, and perceptions of fairness in advancement.

What the Research Will Produce
Results will be compiled into the inaugural Animal Health Career Pulse, an annual publication that will:
•Benchmark career progression patterns by gender, career stage, employer type, function, and country
•Quantify the real-world impact of networking, mentorship, and sponsorship on promotion velocity and opportunity access
•Identify where and why career paths diverge – and what interventions most reliably convert talent into advancement
•Give industry leaders, HR professionals, and talent development teams actionable data to drive meaningful change
“We believe the Animal Health industry is ready to see itself clearly - not just to celebrate its strengths, but to honestly examine where talent is being left on the table. This survey is the starting point for a conversation our industry needs to have.”
– Jessica Bayer, Chairman of the Board, WILMAH
