KRKA UK introduces a new resource for veterinary teams to facilitate extended conversations on joint health, enabling pet owners to recognise and manage osteoarthritis earlier and more effectively at home.

KRKA UK has released a take-home resource aimed at helping veterinary teams continue osteoarthritis conversations beyond the consult room. The Dog Owner’s Guide to Joint Health is designed to give owners clear, practical advice on recognising joint problems earlier and supporting dogs before mobility declines further.

According to the company, the guide covers weight management, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, pain control, home adaptations and ways to keep owners engaged in long-term care. Professor Stuart Carmichael, who has worked with KRKA on previous osteoarthritis education projects, said earlier identification is one of the biggest opportunities in the disease and that owners should understand OA can start much sooner than many expect. Danielle Everett, a veterinary physiotherapist and canine hydrotherapist, said small lifestyle changes, individual exercise plans and rehabilitation support can materially improve comfort and mobility.

For busy small-animal practices, the guide appears aimed at extending education without adding much consult time.
