Zoetis and Fundación Mirada Animal are intensifying their campaign to find homes for rescued puppies and adult dogs during Chile’s coldest, wettest months, bolstering rescue efforts with vital veterinary support and expanded adoption outreach.

Zoetis and Fundación Mirada Animal are intensifying their appeal for homes for rescued puppies and adult dogs as Chile enters its coldest, wettest months, a period that can be especially hard on animals without shelter. The two organisations have worked together for two years, with Zoetis supplying essential veterinary products including vaccines, antiparasitics, dermatological treatments, anti-inflammatory medicines and antibiotics.

That support matters commercially as well as clinically. By covering a significant share of the refuge’s medical burden, the company allows Mirada Animal to redirect scarce resources towards rescue operations and the logistics of adoption, rather than emergency treatment. Zoetis also uses its communication channels to widen the reach of adoption campaigns.

Mariana Cestau, general manager of Zoetis Chile and Peru, said the partnership reflects a core business commitment to animal welfare and that the winter campaign is designed to highlight the urgency of finding responsible families. Erika Silva, veterinary director of Mirada Animal Chile, said the collaboration has been central to helping dogs arrive in poor condition recover and eventually leave for permanent homes.

The Chilean initiative sits within a broader Zoetis shelter strategy. In the United States, the company has also backed Adopt a Pet through product grants and educational resources, including a 2024 programme that distributed more than $2 million in donated products to animal welfare groups.
