Parnell launches a 50 mL presentation of PropofolVet Multidose, offering veterinary clinics a tailored solution to improve inventory control and reduce waste, alongside existing 20 mL vials for dog anaesthesia.

Parnell has added a 50 mL presentation of PropofolVet Multidose, widening the options available to veterinary clinics using its propofol-based anaesthetic for dogs.

The company said the larger format is intended to help practices match pack size more closely to caseload, with the aim of improving stock control and cutting waste. It sits alongside the existing 20 mL vial, which had been the only commercial presentation since the product was cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration as the first generic propofol injectable emulsion for dogs in November 2024.

PropofolVet Multidose is used for induction of anaesthesia, for maintenance through intermittent bolus injections during short procedures, and for induction where maintenance is provided by inhalant anaesthetics. According to Parnell, the product retains a 28-day in-use shelf life and does not require refrigeration, features that may simplify handling in busy clinics.

Pablo Lamberto, Parnell’s US general manager and a veterinarian, said the expansion is meant to give clinics “another tool to support their anaesthesia protocols and manage inventory more effectively”.

The launch also broadens a wider anaesthesia portfolio that includes dexmedetomidine, atipamezole, isoflurane and sevoflurane. For a market still focused on efficiency and predictable workflow, the move suggests Parnell is positioning PropofolVet as both a clinical and operational product.
