Novus launches digital compendium to revolutionise feed ingredient comparison
Novus International introduces a digital Raw Material Compendium designed to streamline feed formulation by providing instant access to comprehensive nutrient data across multiple reference databases, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in the feed industry.
Novus International has unveiled a digital Raw Material Compendium aimed at giving feed nutritionists a faster way to compare ingredient values across multiple reference databases.
According to the company, the platform brings together data on commonly used protein ingredients including soybean meal, palm kernel meal, dried distillers’ grains, feather meal and fish meal. It allows users to compare nutrient profiles, generate charts and tables, and upload their own internal analyses for private comparison with global benchmarks.
Novus says the tool draws on authorised material from established references such as the National Research Council, AFZ, INRAE, FEDNA, Centraal Veevoeder Bureau and the Brazilian Tables for Poultry and Swine. The company presents the product as a way to reduce a process that is often manual, fragmented and time-consuming for formulation teams.
Marisol Castillo, global swine solutions executive manager at Novus, said the platform puts data from multiple sources “at their fingertips”.
The launch reflects a wider industry push to improve ration formulation through more structured use of ingredient data, as raw material quality and nutrient composition can vary sharply by region and supplier. For feed businesses under margin pressure, better comparison tools may prove as valuable as new additives.
