Nbryo secures A$20 million to accelerate livestock biotech innovations in Queensland
Queensland-based agri-biotech firm Nbryo has raised A$20 million in funding, supported by government and private investors, to scale its bovine reproductive technologies and position Queensland as a global hub for agtech innovation.
Queensland agri-biotech group Nbryo has lifted its seed financing to A$20 million after a second close that brought in new money from the state government’s Sowing the Seeds of Farming Innovation Fund, managed by QIC Ventures. The A$2 million public investment marks the first deployment from the A$30 million programme, which is aimed at helping local inventions move from trials to commercial scale.
According to company and investor statements, the round builds on an initial A$10 million close completed in late 2025 and adds to a syndicate that includes the Gates Foundation, AgriZero and Tenacious Ventures. Nbryo said the capital will support growth in its bovine reproductive technologies, which it says can speed genetic improvement in beef and dairy herds.
QIC Ventures said the business has made clear commercial progress over the past year, pointing to the launch of its embryo multiplication technology, a growing base of paying customers and relationships with major Australian beef producers.
Nbryo chief executive Paul Niven said the company wants to turn scientific advances into practical gains for farmers, arguing that Queensland could become a global centre for agtech. The latest funding underscores investor interest in tools that promise faster breeding, lower costs and higher productivity across the livestock sector.
