Dechra Appoints Justine Conway as Chief Corporate Strategy and Business Development Officer in Newly Created Role
Dechra has appointed Justine Conway — formerly VP of Business Development at Elanco Animal Health — as its first Chief Corporate Strategy and Business Development Officer, a newly created position designed to shape the company’s long-term strategic direction and accelerate growth as Dechra pursues its ambition to become the leading animal health company in specialty care.
Dechra has created a new senior leadership role and filled it with one of animal health’s most experienced dealmakers, appointing Justine Conway as Chief Corporate Strategy and Business Development Officer with effect from 17 August 2026.
Conway joins from Elanco Animal Health, where as Vice President of Business Development she led strategic transactions that materially strengthened both the company’s portfolio and balance sheet during a significant period of transformation. Earlier in her career she advised on strategic transactions and capital markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Macquarie Group, giving her a rare combination of investment banking rigour and deep animal health sector knowledge.
In her new role, Conway will partner across Dechra’s global business to shape long-term strategic direction and identify opportunities to accelerate sustainable growth , a mandate that sits at the heart of Dechra’s ambition to become the leading company in veterinary specialty care.
CEO Jesper Nordengaard said Conway’s knowledge of the business development landscape within animal health and her expertise would be a valuable addition to the Senior Executive Team as the company continues its journey to better serve veterinarians, pet owners and the communities it operates in.
