Irish agritech firms showcase innovative solutions at 2026 Innovation Arena

Enterprise Ireland’s 2026 Innovation Arena showcased Irish agritech solutions spanning veterinary prescription management, emissions reduction and AI-powered diagnostics. Award winners included VetPal Technology, Terra NutriTech and Telenostic, highlighting the sector’s growing focus on digitalisation and sustainable livestock production.

Enterprise Ireland’s 2026 Innovation Arena at the National Ploughing Championships has again highlighted the commercial push behind Irish agritech. The awards pointed to a sector increasingly shaped by compliance software, emissions tools and AI diagnostics.

VetPal Technology, based in Roscommon, took the €10,000 Start-Up of the Year prize for software that digitises veterinary prescription management across the animal health chain. The company links farmers, vets, co-operatives, merchants and pharmacies in a single workflow and is integrated with the Department of Agriculture’s National Veterinary Prescription System, according to Enterprise Ireland.

Terra NutriTech of Kildare won the Green Impact award for precision-dosing technology aimed at making methane reduction at pasture more measurable and practical. Kilkenny’s Telenostic was named Innovation Arena Champion for an AI diagnostic tool designed to improve parasite control in livestock, reducing reliance on laboratory testing. Munster Technological University’s MastiTrak won Young Innovator of the Year for a mastitis detection system intended to improve welfare and cut antibiotic use.

Enterprise Ireland said the arena’s focus this year was on helping Irish agribusiness scale internationally. The agency said supported agritech firms generated €844m in exports in 2025 and employ more than 5,000 people in Ireland.
