EW Nutrition appoints Dr Benedict Standen to accelerate aquaculture growth post-acquisition

EW Nutrition has appointed Dr Benedict Standen as global business development manager for aqua, signalling a strategic push into aquaculture following its recent acquisition of Green Innovation and new product launches aimed at combating pathogens and enhancing production.

EW Nutrition has appointed Dr Benedict Standen as global business development manager for aqua, as the feed additives group steps up its push into aquaculture.

The company said Standen brings more than a decade of experience in the sector, alongside a master’s degree in marine biology and a PhD focused on feed additives in aquaculture. His remit will include supporting the expansion of EW Nutrition’s aqua business and working with fish and shrimp producers on nutritional solutions.

The appointment comes as EW Nutrition broadens its aquaculture additives portfolio following the acquisition of Green Innovation in early 2025. The company has said it plans to bring products such as Oxilem Blue to market as part of a wider effort to tackle pathogens, reduce oxidation and improve production performance.

Jan Vanbrabant, EW Nutrition’s chief executive, described Standen as “open, inquisitive, and unbelievably knowledgeable”, adding that the role required someone with both scientific and practical expertise. Danièle Marzin, the company’s director of product management, said she was convinced EW Nutrition had “a winning manager for a winning portfolio”.

Standen said he was aware of the company’s recent growth and wanted to help extend its reach in aquaculture. He added that he was attracted by the firm’s ambition and work ethic.
