Parnell introduces 50 mL vial for PropofolVet Multidose to boost veterinary efficiency
Parnell has expanded its PropofolVet Multidose range with a new 50 mL vial, offering veterinary clinics greater flexibility and reducing waste amid growing perioperative product lines, including anaesthesia and sedation options.
Parnell has broadened the presentation options for PropofolVet Multidose, adding a 50 mL vial to the existing 20 mL format for dogs. According to the company’s announcement, the move is designed to give veterinary teams more flexibility in matching product size to case load, which may help reduce waste and improve stock control. Parnell says the propofol injectable emulsion remains its first generic propofol product for dogs.
The drug is indicated for induction of anaesthesia, maintenance of general anaesthesia via intermittent bolus injections for short procedures, and induction when inhalant anaesthetics will provide maintenance. Parnell says both presentations retain a 28-day in-use shelf life and do not require refrigeration, features that may be attractive in busy practices balancing turnover, storage and room-temperature handling.
Pablo Lamberto, the company’s US general manager, said the expansion is intended to help clinics work more efficiently while maintaining patient care standards. The addition also extends a broader anaesthesia and sedation line that includes dexmedetomidine hydrochloride injection, CONTRASED, isoflurane and sevoflurane, reinforcing Parnell’s push into perioperative products for companion animal practice.
