Ceva Animal Health has launched the second season of its Feliway Cat Handling Programme with International Cat Care, offering a free online course designed to help veterinary teams minimise stress and improve feline clinical outcomes through practical, evidence-based handling techniques.

Ceva has launched the second season of its Feliway Cat Handling Programme with International Cat Care, expanding a free online course aimed at helping veterinary teams reduce stress during feline consultations. The self-paced training focuses on practical, evidence-based handling methods designed to improve welfare and support better clinical outcomes.

The company said the new season builds on growing recognition that cats often experience avoidable fear in practice, and that small changes in handling and the clinic environment can make a meaningful difference. Stephanie Barnard-Twitchett, Ceva Animal Health’s registered veterinary nurse, champion of feline welfare and behaviour, and pharmacovigilance specialist, said research has changed understanding of how cats respond to veterinary visits and how stress can affect outcomes.

According to Ceva, the programme features short videos and quizzes and is intended to help teams identify pain, anxiety and frustration, as well as when sedation or anxiolytics may be needed. Improve International said more than 50,000 professionals completed the first season after its launch in 2018. Dr Andrew H Sparkes described the course as “an invaluable resource to anyone who wants to improve their clinic for cats”.
