George Gunn

George is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Stonehaven Cozmix Group and the Founder of Stonehaven Consulting. A native of the Shetland Islands, Scotland, and a Veterinarian by training, he brings over 40 years of experience across the global Healthcare industry.

George retired from Novartis AG in 2015, having served on the Executive Committee since 2008. During his tenure, he held a number of senior leadership roles, including Head of Animal Health, North America, Global Head of Novartis Animal Health, and Head of the Consumer Health Division, in addition to overseeing Corporate Social Responsibility.

Prior to joining Novartis, he served as President of Pharmacia Animal Health, leading its global operations from Kalamazoo, Michigan. He began his industry career with in 1983 with Wellcome and joined Johnson & Johnson in 1986, where he held a series of senior leadership positions across Animal Health, Pharmaceuticals, and Consumer Health businesses in the UK and Europe.

Earlier in his career, George worked in mixed veterinary practice and subsequently served for six years with the UK Ministry of Agriculture, focusing on the control of zoonotic and economically significant diseases.

He has also held a number of prominent industry and academic leadership roles, including Chairman of the International Federation of Animal Health. He has maintained a longstanding association with the University of Edinburgh, serving as Chairman of the Development Board at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and as a Regent since 2012.
