Zomedica shifts its focus from a single-product supplier to a platform-oriented veterinary business with global ambitions, driven by strong Q2 growth and strategic investment in diagnostics and therapeutics.

Zomedica used its latest investor webinar to frame itself less as a single-product veterinary supplier than as a platform business with international ambition. The company said the strategy is being built around diagnostics and therapeutics designed to help veterinary practices work more efficiently while improving economics for clinics.

The update followed a strong second quarter. Zomedica said revenue rose 37% year on year, helped by demand for its PulseVet and Assisi therapeutic devices and increasing uptake of the TRUFORMA diagnostic platform. Gross margin reached 64%, while operating expenses fell 20% from a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA loss narrowed by 59%, and cash burn dropped 38%, suggesting the business is moving closer to operating discipline even as it continues to invest.

Management is targeting cash-flow breakeven and profitability by 2027, with global expansion and recurring revenue streams central to that plan. That ambition matters: for smaller medtech groups, international scale can improve resilience, but it also demands sustained execution in distribution, regulation and customer support.
