Hong Kong-based Satellai unveils its next-generation pet intelligence platform at IFA 2026, moving beyond simple location tracking to interpret pet behaviour through AI-driven insights and connected devices.

SATELLAI, the Hong Kong-based pet technology company led by Mao Hanyong, used IFA 2026 in Berlin to outline a shift from simple location tracking towards what it calls pet intelligence. The company said its SATELLAI Sense AI platform combines device data, owner input and breed context to turn patterns in a pet’s activity into plain-language observations.

The system is due to roll out first through the SATELLAI Cat Tag, a lightweight wearable for indoor cats, with features including a Pet Personality Portrait, a Pet Diary and a Virtual Pet Nanny. SATELLAI also previewed Cat Tag Pro for outdoor cats, with LTE and GPS connectivity, and Tracker Ultra, a dog wearable designed to maintain location reporting in areas with limited mobile coverage through satellite connectivity.

According to the company, the aim is to help owners interpret changes in behaviour and routine rather than merely monitor where an animal is. Mao said smart sensors can gather data, but AI is needed to give that data meaning.

SATELLAI also said it is working with Deutsche Telekom IoT and Swift Navigation on global connectivity and more reliable positioning, as it prepares for a formal entry into Japan in the first half of 2027. German technology media have already taken notice, with PC-WELT and COMPUTER BILD highlighting the Cat Tag at the show.
