Novus launches RELYZANT, a new bis-chelated mineral line for livestock diets
NOVUS has launched RELYZANT, a new bis-chelated trace mineral range for dairy, poultry and swine diets, initially available in Mexico. The zinc, copper and manganese products are designed to improve mineral availability while offering greater concentration and flexibility in feed formulation.
NOVUS has launched RELYZANT, a new bis-chelated trace mineral line for livestock diets, as the animal nutrition group seeks to widen access to a formulation approach previously associated with its MINTREX range. The move matters because mineral efficiency, ration flexibility and ingredient cost are all under pressure as producers and feed formulators look for more concentrated inputs.
According to NOVUS, RELYZANT supplies zinc, copper and manganese in a structure bound to two lactic acid ligands, which the company says helps the minerals remain stable as they pass through the gut and encounter other feed components. The company presents the product as a more widely usable version of its bis-chelate technology, preserving the absorption benefits of the format while removing methionine from the formulation.
Abishek Shingote, NOVUS vice-president of corporate strategy and innovation, said the product was developed in response to customer demand and drew on more than 500 research trials conducted on MINTREX. Tracy Rode, a NOVUS research scientist involved in the development, said the higher mineral concentration should give nutritionists more room in the ration for other ingredients.
NOVUS says RELYZANT is already available in Mexico and will reach other markets later this year. The launch extends the company’s push to position bis-chelated minerals as a practical tool for dairy, poultry and swine producers seeking both performance and ration flexibility.
