Hoomanely’s AI platform transforms pet health monitoring with pioneering behavioural insights
Palo Alto-based Hoomanely launches EverBowl, an AI-driven smart feeding station that tracks and interprets animal behaviour to enable early health intervention, starting with dogs.
Hoomanely, the Palo Alto start-up, has launched an AI-native platform it says is designed to turn everyday animal behaviour into longitudinal health intelligence, beginning with dogs.
Its first commercial product, EverBowl, is a smart feeding station that monitors consumption, drinking, eating speed and associated sounds to build a baseline for each animal rather than comparing it with population averages. The company says an 18-month beta generated more than 5 million multimodal data points from over 80 dogs.
According to Hoomanely, the system has already highlighted patterns that coincided with tick fever and dental deterioration, while also tracking changes during treatment for Cushing’s syndrome. The company stresses that the aim is earlier recognition and better-informed care, not replacing veterinary diagnosis.
The companion EverWiz app is intended to translate those signals into practical guidance for owners, and Hoomanely says more than 9,000 people have downloaded it. The business is also developing additional sensing for movement, rest, weight, posture and environmental conditions, with ambitions to extend beyond pets into livestock and low-connectivity settings.
The start-up has filed four utility patent applications and says its longer-term goal is to create a data layer that could support veterinarians, insurers, researchers and nutrition groups.
