Hoomanely, a San Francisco startup, launches an AI-native animal health platform that uses behavioural and physiological data to deliver personalised, continuous health monitoring for pets, with plans to expand into livestock management.

Hoomanely has launched an AI-native animal health platform that it says can turn routine behavioural and physiological signals into personalised, longitudinal health intelligence for pets and, eventually, livestock.

The San Francisco-area start-up is initially focused on dogs through EverBowl, a smart feeding station that passively tracks food and water intake, eating speed, chewing and swallowing sounds, facial temperature and oral movements. According to the company, an 18-month beta involving more than 80 dogs generated over 5 million multimodal data points.

Rather than relying on population averages, Hoomanely says its system learns each animal’s normal patterns and flags deviations from that baseline. The output is delivered through the Hoomanely app, which also provides daily wellness scores and alerts. The app is available on iPhone and Android, and the service is offered by subscription.

Sai Supriya Sharath, Hoomanely’s chief executive, said the beta findings are informing formal veterinary studies to test whether the platform can recognise meaningful changes at scale. The company says early signals during testing coincided with tick fever, dental damage and monitoring of a dog being treated for Cushing’s syndrome.

Hoomanely is planning to broaden its dataset and add measures including movement, rest, weight, stance and environmental conditions. It has also filed four utility patent applications around sensing, sensor fusion and animal-intelligence technologies.
