Hendrix Genetics has acquired full ownership of its swine division, following nearly two years of integration, aiming to boost operational clarity and speed in translating breeding scale into commercial success, while maintaining Danish partners’ involvement and expertise.

Hendrix Genetics has moved to full ownership of its swine unit, signalling a further tightening of control over a business built from the combination of Hypor and Danish Genetics. The shift should give the group more operational clarity as it seeks to translate its breeding scale into faster commercial execution in pork genetics.

According to Hendrix Genetics, Dennis Jørgensen took over as managing director of the swine activities on 1 September 2026 and will lead the integrated unit as a dedicated business within the wider multi-species group. The company said the move follows nearly two years of integration since the partnership was formed.

The swine arm was created to bring breeding, multiplication and distribution under one structure, and last year it launched Nexus 100, the first product developed after the merger. Richard Maatman, chief executive, said the change to full ownership was a “natural next step” that would support greater speed and alignment.

Hendrix Genetics said its Danish partners would remain important to the business, with their farms, networks and technical knowledge still part of the model. The group, founded in 2005, operates in more than 25 countries and has about 3,000 employees across poultry, swine and aquaculture.
