Melbourne-based pet-health startup Elita secures $1.9 million to develop new biological testing products and enhance long-term preventative care for dogs, integrating biological data, owner input, and telehealth services.

Melbourne pet-health startup Elita has drawn $1.9 million in fresh capital as it broadens its remit from cell banking into longer-term canine preventative care. The company is pairing biological data, owner input and telehealth in a bid to shift treatment earlier in the health cycle.

Boost VC led the round, with backing from Gandel Invest, Artesian’s Female Leaders Fund, Touch Ventures and M8 Ventures. According to Elita, the money will support Blueprint360, an in-house at-home biological testing product due to launch later this year, alongside continued development of its Blueprint platform, which tracks changes in a dog’s health over time.

The startup, founded in December 2024 by Paloma Newton and Jackson Gritching, had previously raised $1.1 million in pre-seed funding in July 2025 to build a stem cell bank for Australian pets. It has now linked with VetChat to provide 24/7 access to local veterinarians, who will be able to review a dog’s Blueprint history before consultations.

Newton said the company’s aim was to make prevention more accessible as vet bills rise. Boost VC founder Adam Draper argued the platform could improve canine care standards significantly, describing Elita as an early mover in biological testing for animals.
