Medneo has acquired Burgess Diagnostics, the UK’s leading provider of mobile MRI and CT services to the veterinary sector, from Solingen Private Equity — adding an animal health revenue stream to a diagnostic imaging group that has expanded aggressively under CVC DIF ownership, and signalling that scanner access is becoming a strategic asset across both human and veterinary care.

Burgess Diagnostics has operated exclusively in the veterinary sector since 2003, growing from a single MRI scanner to a fleet of eight MRI and CT systems serving a network of around 75 scanning sites across the UK and Ireland. Its radiographers are veterinary-trained, and the business also hires out mobile units to practices covering scanner upgrades, maintenance or unexpected breakdowns.

The acquisition continues a rapid run of deals. Medneo UK was founded by Andy Spellman in 2018 and had grown to more than 20 mobile scanners serving over 130,000 patients a year when CVC DIF acquired it in 2024. It bought Fairford Medical’s mobile imaging fleet in 2025, then in July 2026 acquired Ramsay Diagnostics UK’s mobile MRI and CT fleet alongside a six-year exclusive contract across Ramsay’s 34-site hospital network.

Ella Tracey, chief executive of Medneo, said the acquisition demonstrated the company’s ambition to build a broader, stronger imaging group, and that it would work closely with the Burgess team to support its growth.
Mary Bronserud, managing director of Burgess Diagnostics, described the deal as an exciting next chapter, giving the business additional support to build on its position and reach more veterinary organisations across the UK and Ireland. Burgess will continue to operate under its established brand.

Paul Betts, speaking for Solingen Private Equity, wished both teams success. Financial terms were not disclosed.
