CERES TAG partners with Acies to connect livestock monitoring and insurance
CERES TAG has partnered with Acies Agricultural Risks to give livestock producers easier access to mortality insurance information through its digital platform. The collaboration brings together animal-level monitoring technology and financial risk management for livestock operations.
CERES TAG has announced a collaboration with Acies Agricultural Risks aimed at connecting livestock monitoring technology with access to livestock mortality insurance services.
Under the agreement, customers using CERES TAG’s livestock monitoring platform will be able to access a dedicated Acies Agricultural Risks resource through the platform, providing information on livestock mortality insurance options.
CERES TAG develops smart ear tags that connect individual animals directly to satellites, allowing producers to remotely monitor information including location, activity, health and welfare indicators, reproduction and productivity. The technology is designed in particular for large or remote livestock operations where conventional connectivity may be limited.
Acies Agricultural Risks, a division of Acies USA, specialises in agricultural risk management and livestock mortality insurance. The collaboration is intended to give producers using CERES TAG technology a more direct route to information about insurance options for valuable livestock.
The companies said the initial phase will focus on creating a streamlined pathway between CERES TAG customers and Acies Agricultural Risks’ livestock mortality insurance services.
They also plan to explore additional opportunities for collaboration as the relationship develops. CERES TAG said the partnership forms part of its broader approach to developing a connected livestock ecosystem, in which animal-level data could support decisions beyond production and day-to-day herd management, including financial risk management.
