Boehringer Ingelheim’s US animal health headquarters move signals long-term Georgia investment
Boehringer Ingelheim has inaugurated its new US animal health headquarters in Johns Creek, Georgia, highlighting its commitment to the state’s growing life sciences sector and regional collaboration.
Boehringer Ingelheim has opened its new US animal health headquarters in Johns Creek, Georgia, in a move that underlines the company’s long-term investment in the state’s life sciences cluster.
According to the company, the site was chosen for its access to talent in one of the region’s fastest-growing innovation corridors and its proximity to other Boehringer operations in Georgia. The headquarters is expected to support collaboration across the business, which serves companion animals, livestock and the professionals who care for them.
The relocation also reflects a broader consolidation in the Atlanta area. Local reports said the company has moved almost 500 employees from Duluth to a 73,000 sq ft office at Medley, a 43-acre mixed-use development in Johns Creek. The opening follows a lease announced earlier this year for the space, which sits within a larger commercial scheme aimed at drawing knowledge-based employers.
Boehringer’s US animal health business has more than a century of roots in the country and employs over 3,000 people across seven sites, including facilities in Georgia, Missouri, Iowa, New Jersey and Puerto Rico.
At the opening, state and local officials welcomed the investment, while the company also marked the occasion with a donation of NexGard Plus parasite protection to the Johns Creek police K-9 unit.
