Animalcare Group has agreed on terms with Anumio to develop and commercialise a long-acting injectable for horses, advancing its veterinary portfolio and global licensing ambitions.

Animalcare Group has agreed principal terms with Anumio for an option to secure an exclusive worldwide licence to develop and commercialise a long-acting injectable product for horses.
The non-binding term sheet, announced on 26 August, gives Animalcare the option to license the product following a defined evaluation period. Any licence remains subject to successful evaluation and the completion of definitive agreements between the companies.
The proposed product is based on Anumio’s technology platform. Under the planned arrangement, Animalcare would take responsibility for regulatory strategy, clinical studies, safety monitoring and commercialisation, while Anumio would provide formulation development, manufacturing and technical support related to its platform. Anumio would retain ownership of its underlying intellectual property.
The companies first connected at the Kansas City Corridor meeting in 2025 and said there could also be scope to explore additional veterinary applications of Anumio’s technology where clinical and commercial needs are identified.
If Animalcare exercises the licence option, a joint steering committee would oversee development, regulatory strategy and manufacturing performance.
The agreement adds to Animalcare’s recent partnership and business development activity. The UK-based animal health company acquired equine-focused Randlab in 2023 and has subsequently added a VHH NGF research programme and related assets from Orthros Medical.
Animalcare said it continues to seek technologies and businesses with the potential to be developed into commercial veterinary products.
