AKVA group launches AKVA plan 5.0 to revolutionise aquaculture decision-making

AKVA group has launched AKVA plan 5.0, a cloud-based planning platform that brings biological modelling, scenario analysis and live monitoring into one system for fish-farming operators. The company says the software is designed to help planners test the impact of slower growth, capacity constraints and harvest timing before changing production plans.
The launch, timed to AquaNext in Stavanger on 22-23 September, underlines how aquaculture software is moving towards faster, more integrated decision-support tools. For producers under pressure to improve margins, tighten biological control and reduce operational risk, the appeal is a single platform that links site, pen and daily planning.
According to AKVA group, AKVA plan 5.0 draws on more than 25 years of experience with fishtalk’s calculation engine and adds a modern interface, broader integration options and AI-assisted workflows. That means users can use natural language to generate plans, spot deviations, forecast output and flag risks.
Kris Sæther, AKVA group’s commercial director for digital, said the software could help managers assess consequences more quickly when conditions change. The company also said AquaNext offered a suitable forum to demonstrate the product to customers and industry partners.
